Bloor Cinema 'Spacetime Star Theatre' Takes You Across the Universe

The McLaughlin Planetarium may be closed, but the next best thing is now at Bloor Cinema.

Hidden on the underside of the Bloor Cinema’s balcony is a large star scape mural, brought to life in a series of midnight interactive voyages across the universe. Hosted by Starscape artist, Philip John Kuntz and StarryNight software expert Todd Howe. There’s nothing else like this anywhere in the world.

The result of community action and a passion for a cause, Spacetime Star Theatre works as part of StarryNight’s software development team in forging new ground in public astronomy education.

Upcoming shows include the following:

March 14th | Killer Asteroids and You
In the universe, mass is destiny, and spin is a matter of life and death. A look at some of our better known celestial rogues... (Tip: Don’t worry, be happy!)

March 21st | Spring Equinox
A yearly event with roots in ancient history and branches in cutting edge astronomy.

March 28th | Intro to the Night Sky
Where is the Little Dipper? How are planets and stars different? Where can I see new comet Lulin? What's out there? Find out at this show.

April 11th | Easter/Passover and the Night Sky
Find out what the Easter bunny and the Pascal Lambhave in common with the light of the moon!

May 23rd | Intro to the Night Sky
