Doubts and fears about the economy has many people giving up their favourite indulgences. Wine doesn’t have to be one of them. Making your own saves you money. Make wine now, enjoy it this spring and summer. Great selections for the warmer months include fruit wines, like banana pineapple, citrus ice, kiwi melon, acai raspberry, mango mint, tangerine lemon, and orange passion, to name just a few. Delicious and refreshing with a splash of soda. Also popular is Orange Sangria. Not as strong as a typical Sangria, it’s delicious with tonic or soda and fresh fruits.
Lighter reds, like Red Bergeron or Valpolicella are often favoured for warmer weather months. However, a rich, full-bodied and robust wine is excellent for serving at BBQs and with hot, spicy foods.
