Spring your home reno projects forward with these tips
Monday, March 8, 2010
Spring is rapidly approaching and there’s no better time than now to start planning those home reno pro-jects. You know the ones that have been a thorn in your side all winter! The experts at West Toronto Paint & Wallpaper have a few tips to help you get started.
According to Tara Ford, owner, decorator and buyer for Tulula Home Décor, it’s a misconception that your front door and your garage door must be the same colour. “On the contrary”, says Tara. “Why not paint your front door to match your car or the flowers in your garden?” The idea is to set your garage door back and bring your front door forward. Tara adds, “Have your garage door similar in tone (lightness/darkness) to your brick. The key is to make your entrance welcoming.” If elegance is what you are after a monochromatic colour scheme is always going to please. It’s good to play with contrast, the front door is the best place to add a punch of colour, however you should always be careful not to introduce too many different colours.
When in doubt the experts at West Toronto Paint are always happy to help with your colour queries. West Toronto Paint offers in home colour consultations, in store colour consultations, delivery to your home and professional advice you won’t get anywhere else.
