Boland’s Open Kitchen… now open in Leaside

Chris Boland—formerly of Tasting Rooms Restaurant, Trapper’s Restaurant and Telfer’s—has opened his newest establishment on Mt. Pleasant Road.

Offering a menu that is diverse, with a flair for both healthy and naughty, Boland’s Open Kitchen is inviting—more like visiting Chris’ home for dinner than dining in a slick urban restaurant. You’ll enjoy being greeted with complimentary hors d’oeuvres in an atmosphere that is casual and relaxed.

Main course menu items are prepared in both a traditional and contemporary manner—for instance, enjoy traditional poached salmon over asparagus with hollandaise; or the contemporary version of broiled salmon with grilled pineapple, scallion, apple and red pepper salsa.

Other traditional main course items include roasted top sirloin of beef with classic gravy or jus, and marinated slow-cooked pork tenderloin stuffed with grilled apples.  Contemporary choices include pan roasted stone bass with black olive tapenade, quinoa salad and hazelnuts, and Ontario turkey breast marinated for 12 hours, then slow-roasted with vegetables and served with roasted garlic, spinach and kale mash.

Meal portions are appropriate for those who understand that less is better for numerous reasons—health, price, sustainability and common sense. They also have low sodium, low fat and low cholesterol options in addition to their standard fare.

Chris is happy to be in your neighbourhood and serving clientele he has come to know and respect in his past ventures. Visit for dinner Tuesday–Sunday. Open Sunday for brunch, too. Closed Mondays.
