What's on the menu this winter at Boland's Open Kitchen

Chris Boland, formerly of Tasting Rooms Restaurant, Trapper’s Restaurant and Telfer’s—opened his newest establishment on Mt. Pleasant Road in the summer of 2010.

Offering a diverse menu with a flair for both healthy and indulgent, visiting Boland’s Open Kitchen is like visiting Chris’ home for dinner.

Diners are always welcomed with complimentary hors d’oeuvres. Then, to start your meal, choose from appetizers including pear salad with eight year old cheddar, candied walnuts and a light port dressing; cream of kale chowder with crumbled Stilton; and roasted beet & goat cheese salad.

Next select from main course menu items such as duck confit glazed with clementine jus & fresh cranberries, served with spy apples and pickled pearl onions; roast beef, slow roasted New York striploin with cast iron layered potatoes; wild west coast halibut with cauliflower puree, mushrooms and vin blanc; and seared Ontario trout filet with pineapple, pomegranate, grilled apple, lemon and fresh herb salsa.

For the foodie in your life, Boland’s has the perfect gift with their Food & Wine Adventure Nights. Dinners will start in mid January and run every Wednesday for three months, and will feature 5 courses served with six wines. Themes include Slow Cooking & Wine, Sustainable Canadian Fish & Wine, and the Diversity of Cheese & Wine. Price is $75 per person all inclusive—makes a great gift! Email or call for details and more information on gift certificates.

Visit Boland’s for dinner Monday–Saturday, closed Sundays (always available for private functions).
